Q. I have seen posters and advertises saying "use for free", but is it really free of charge?

We have introduced a free Internet system with the kindness of the owner, customers living in apartment houses with "free Internet" do not need to pay for Internet connection at all.

Charges for Internet base lines/ provider / e-mail address / instrument rental are included in this service.
* Customers shall pay for the use of pay sites by their own expenses.
* Customers may need to pay for monthly charges in some apartment houses.

Q. How fast is the connection speed?

The Best Effort Type with the maximum transfer speed of 100Mbps is used. The Best Effort Type with the maximum transfer speed of 54Mbps is used for the wireless type.
Optical fibers with the maximum 100Mbps is used for up- and down-loads but it is a common line so the transfer speed may be reduced in use environments.

Q. Can I use service without a fixed telephone?

Available if FGBB is introduced into your apartment house or condominium.

Q. Is there a limit for transmission and reception of emails?

Anti-spam measures are implemented in "fgb2.jp" addresses so unwanted e-mails such as spam mails are strictly filtered. Also, our security system filer virus-infected mails. About measures such as anti-junk e-mail measures, please read "FGBB security measures".

Q. I want your staff to come my home and set up connections.

We are sorry to say that.
We do not have English speakers visiting service.

Q. I want to have a server in my home, but can use your service?

We are arfaid that it is not available since our line is a sharing line.

Q. Can I use light telephone, IP phone or other telephone services?

FGBB is available only for Internet. We are afraid that you may not be able to use it with this service.
* For a VDSL type, you can use it together with the general NTT line but you need to take other procedures separately.

Q. Can I use Internet anywhere in the room?

You can use Internet within the range that you can connect the line to a telephone jack or a LAN port. An outlet is needed if there is a rental modem.

Q. Could you tell me my email's password again? I don't remember it.

We send e-mail address setting information to the registered address.
We can send it by FAX in an urgent case. Please be forewarned that we cannot send such information by telephone or e-mail.

Q. Do I have to buy LAN cable by myself?

Please prepare an LAN cable yourself.
If you do not have it, please buy a LAN cable with an appropriate length from the personal computer equipment counter of a household appliance store.

Question about application

Q. I want to apply, but do I need to do construction?

Connection construction works may be required in some buildings.
Please contact FGBB user support (0120-988-660) or inquire by the inquiry form.

Customers are not charged for the construction. In some buildings, if you do not have the wiring (a phone line) in your room, you may need to pay for the extra charge for construction.

Q. I am going to move into an FGBB compliant apartment house. Can I use Internet from the day I move into?

Internet shall be available if you apply early.
In the case of the type for which you need to have a rental modem, we can schedule a delivery date considering the day you move into.

Q. How long does it take from an application to be able to use Internet?

Depending on the building you live, the Internet line shall be available on the day or within about a week. In the busy season (December to March), you may need to wait about two weeks.

Q. Do I heve to prepare something before applying?

You need to prepare a personal computer and a LAN cable with an appropriate length required.

Q. I want to cancel the contract with the provider I am using now.

Q. How many characters can I use for my e-mail address?

An account name must be within eight English one-byte characters
(Half size hyphen "- ", underbars "_" and dot "." can be used).

Q. I have to move from the current apartment house, do I take any procedures?

Other than the cancel of the room, you need to take procedures for this service as well.

For VDSL Type, ACLC Type and Wireless Type, you shall be required to return the modem. We shall send a return kit, so please return the modem til due.
If the modem is damaged, lost or unreturned, we will charge for the amount of money for the rental modem.

Q. Can I use FGBB service continuously in the new apartment house I move into?

We are afraid that you cannot use it because the contract for our service is concluded agreement for each condominium /apartment house.

Q. I will be away from my home for a long period so can I stop the service temporarily?

We do not have suspending service.

Q. Can a company apply for the service?

You can apply with personal and company name.
Moreover, even an underage person can apply.

Question about Internet connection

Q. I use Internet from today, but I cannot get connected to Internet.

Please check all settings for Internet connection by your personal computer.

  • Are the settings of IP address / DNS server "Acquire automatically"?
  • Is "Do not dial" selected for the Internet connection?
  • Are "Automatic configuration" and "Proxy server" unticked for the LAN setting?

Q. It has become unable to get connected to Internet.

Please reboot your personal computer or a rental modem, if you have.

Q. Can I connect a modem and a router I own?

For VDSL Type, you may connect only by the rental modem from us.
Also, it is a sharing line. You cannot use a router.

Q. Can I use plural personal computers?

It is physically possible by HUB but we cannot support for the case of a trouble caused by plural computers a customer arranged.

Q. I want to use e-mail service of another provider through FGBB.

In this service, you need to change a transmission port of the mail software to the submission port "587".
Transmission port settings are different for each provider so please contact your provider for details.

Q. LINE light of the modem does not turn on (VDSL type).

Please connect a telephone wire with a rental modem (LINE) directly without through a connecter.
If you use radio instrument / router / HUB, please disconnect it and contact FGBB User Support.

Q. Can I connect a gaming machine (fixed type, portable type)?

Please contact each manufacturer for the connection method for Internet.

Q. I play an online game (such as Lineage), please open a specific port.

Please be forewarned that we cannot open access ports for uncertain servers for security.
* Since it is a sharing line, you may not be able to use some online games.

Q. Is there a way to prevent my PC from virus infection?

You can protect your computer against a number of infection routes by paying attention to the following points.

  • Please install an anti-virus software and check on a routine basis.
  • Please do not open an attached file from an unknown address.
  • Please check for virus for attached files, download data, media data from the outside (ex. CD-R) before opening them.
  • Please back up data regularly in case of damage from virus.

Q. My personal computer has become virus-infected.

If your personal computer becomes unable to work, please consult the manufacturer that you bought your personal computer from or the store you bought from.
