FGBB Security Measure
Firewall Function
Usually, a user takes responsibility for setting a router with firewall individually but FGBB establishes an original firewall and performs remote monitoring by Support Center.
The FGBB firewall blocks the entire building from attacks such as an illegal access so users can use computers at the same safety level.

We support users for unexpected troubles. We confirm the situation in the building and the firewall established and take appropriate measures as soon as a trouble point is found.
* It detects and shut off illegal accesses from the outside so it does not remove a computer virus (anti-virus software).
P2P measures
Peer-to-peer file-sharing software is a software that shares files through Internet among a lot of users.
File sharing software such as WinMX, which has spread in Japan, or Winny, which is becoming a topic recently, are abused and music / movie / commercial software of copyrighted are exchanged illegally.
Also, information leakage occur by personal computers infected with virus through file sharing software.

To offer as uniform communication environment as possible to all users, FGBB limits a communication band for the "peer-to-peer file-sharing software".
It does not effect on general use such as browsing of web pages and uploads and downloads of the data by software that are not file sharing software.

The following measures are not optional but are a "standard" service for all customers who use FGBB.
E-mail virus check
Our system checks e-mails received on our mail server.
Spam e-mails received by customers can be reduced beforehand by blocking virus e-mails.
* It is not guaranteed that the system removes all virus for 100%.

Mass transmission of e-mails seeming to be a spam action are all shut off. It does not interfere the usual e-mail transmission, so you may set your mind at ease.

Transmission Traffic monitoring
Regardless of presence of an FGBB e-mail address, we monitor the quantity of data flowing through the network (traffic).
Our system detects illegal accesses and traffic with an abnormal amount that may be spams.

Transmission control for spam [OP25B]
OP25B (25 Outbound Port Blocking) is a new measure to decrease "spam" such as virus mails and fishing mails. This protects your computer not only against spam senders but also against the case that your computer is abused unconsciously by illegal accesses or virus infections, mass e-mails are sent unintentionally and information in your computer is leaked.

* If you use a e-mail address of another provider, please inquire the provider about the implementation of [OP25B].
[OP25B] has become available for FGBB from December 1, 2007.
Please change the settings of your e-mail software.
When you send an FGBB mail, the submission port 587 is used. Please refer to the manual for details.
